Visit by Libyan Ministry of Defence delegation to EUNAVFOR MED IRINI’s Operational Headquarters
A delegation of Libyan officials from the Ministry of Defence led by the Director of the International Cooperation Department, Brig. Gen. Khaled Ali ALMASHAI, visited the Headquarters of Operation EUNAVFOR MED IRINI in Rome. The Libyan officials were welcomed by the Operation Commander, Rear Admiral (UH) Marco Casapieri, who briefed the delegation ahead of a productive dialogue.
The discussions included strengthening the cooperation with Libya, especially regarding trainings and exercises with Libyan authorities. Discussions explored opportunities and next steps to be taken in order to enhance EU-Libya cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed the ongoing efforts and commitment to promote maritime security and stability in the Central Mediterranean.
